press release: Madison indie-pop band Woodrow will be releasing their third EP, Ice Cream for Breakfast, at the High Noon Saloon on Thursday, August 30. Joining them is Chloe Louise, 2018 Project M winner and pop/country darling, and the Americana power-duo Wise Jennings. Doors open at 7:00 pm, the show runs 8:00pm-11:30pm, and cover charge will be $7. In the spirit of summer and the EP's title, there will be ice cream for sale at the show!
Recently placing in the top three in 105.5 Triple M's Project M songwriting competition, Woodrow revels in singalong choruses, exuberant vocals, and catchy guitar licks. The songs of Ice Cream for Breakfast were all created for the Project M competition. Each song was written in a week based on a prompt provided by Project M judges and performed onstage in front of a live audience. These tunes have been honed into an EP that is surprising, heartfelt, and above all, fun to listen to.
Following the energetic release of their second EP, Buds and Thorns, almost one year ago, Woodrow has worked tirelessly to explore their boundaries and create a unique sound. The newest EP explores the band's versatility as they delve into folk, chamber pop, ska, and their signature indie-pop.
Come see the group that The Capital Times called ‘joyous, bittersweet, and goofy’ release their vibrant new album in true Woodrow fashion at the High Noon Saloon on 8/30.
