Words of Worth

press release: The Community Immigration Law Center (CILC), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that provides legal representation to detained non-citizens, is hosting a letter writing event to show solidarity and support to those detained at the US-Mexico border. 

We will begin the night with an introduction to the crisis on our southern border, discussing the core problems, the processes of removal proceedings, the conditions in which the men, women and children are kept, and why outside support is so important to the well being of our immigrant community.

Following this introduction we will commence our letter writing. We ask that participants bring any supplies they have to share (cards, pens/pencils, decorating materials) and we will provide snacks and refreshments. Come support our immigrant community with fellow advocates!

This is a cost-free, all-ages event. It will be held on January 13 from 6-8pm at Christ Presbyterian Church at 944 E Gorham St.
