BJ's Kolaches is in front of the Geology building on West Dayton Street at Charter. The cravable, savory kolaches are like smaller, less greasy knishes. The concept comes from the Czech Republic via Texas. The all-American fillings include Philly cheesesteak, spinach-artichoke and jambalaya.
Igo Vego is on the Square at Wisconsin Avenue. Four flavors of handmade vegan burgers (chili, walnut and sweet potato, mushroom and a veg-centric model) are the centerpiece of the menu; rice and salad are other options.
Mad City Fry Guy is on the Square at West Mifflin and South Carroll. Hot dogs and brats come with a choice of 12 sauces and 14 toppings. Also selling fries, poutine and deep-fried cheese curds.
The Monty's Blue Plate cart has relocated from Library Mall to West Mifflin at North Pinckney. Mornings, the cart will be selling breakfast sandwiches, Just Coffee and lush handmade doughnuts in two varieties: glazed and cinnamon-sugar. Lunch will bring soup and more sandwiches.
