On the day before Thanksgiving, the Ian's Pizza on State Street launched a mustache-growing contest inviting both employees and customers to see how much hair they could grow on and around their upper lips over the following month. The restaurant has partnered with in this particular challenge. The participants have met at a bar every week to compare their progress, and are getting together this evening for a "Stache Bash" costume party to conclude the contest, award winners, and celebrate their growth. Restaurant employees have raised over $700 in-store from tip money over the last month, and Ian's will be matching the direct donations that the contestants have collected. The Santa Feeds America food drive concludes this week at East Towne and West Towne. Throughout the holiday season, shoppers have been encouraged to bring their non-perishable food and monetary donations to Santa Claus and his elves at each mall for distribution through the at more than 80 CBL & Associates Properties malls across the nation. East Towne Mall and West Towne Mall, all day and through Christmas Eve.

Going out to eat Chinese food on Christmas is a long-established but growing American tradition, and one that is easy to partake in for those spending the holidays in Madison.
