It's that time of year again, that early autumn week when tens of thousands of ranchers, farmers, and agribiz vendors congregate in Madison for the World Dairy Expo, a week-long forum centered on the industry built upon milk, the drink that made Wisconsin famous. Oktoberfest celebration. This all-day party has the goal of providing east-siders an opportunity to gather outside "one more time before the cold weather really sets in," and is hoping to entice them with a menu of Bavarian sausages, soft pretzels, and house-made sauerkraut, German and local beers, and hours of live music. The Oktoberfest celebration today. This is primarily a beer festival, and will feature over 60 different selections from some 20 breweries, along with "signature dish" samples from local restaurants. Live music, raffles, and a silent auction round out the offerings.
