This year we learned that Madison pet owners love their veterinarians; the new category garnered an avalanche of effusive votes. You're also a big-hearted crowd, voting former professional middle-distance runner Suzy Favor Hamilton second-favorite local athlete, despite (or perhaps because of) her scandal-plagued year. Golfer Steve Stricker got the hole-in-one, though.
