Madison singer/songwriter Robert J. was planning to release two CDs on Dec. 8 at the Brink Lounge, but he's postponed that gig for now.
"On November 10 I had a heart attack while raking leaves in my backyard," he wrote in a recent email message. "Because we got to the hospital fast, they had me in the operating room within minutes, and the damage to my heart muscle looks like it will be minimal. Over the next six weeks I will be undertaking rehab, and it is going to take some time to get back to full strength. But hopefully I will be back!"
We trust you will, Robert, and we look forward to your CD release party in 2008.
Lorenzo's Music are posting weekly netcasts to their website (www.lorenzosmusic.com) to unveil their forthcoming album, one song at a time. But the videos don't feature the band performing.
"I'm a fan of old movies and retro commercials," explains the local rock band's lead vocalist, Tom Ray. "So I searched some public domain archives and chose a film."
Last week's post debuted the song "It Could Be You," set to a black-and-white film of an expectant cat thoughtfully searching an apartment for the right place to give birth.
Ray says the next post should be up by the end of this weekend.
