On any given weekday you'll find a modest amount of activity in Forest Hill and Resurrection cemeteries. Their prime location on the near west side ensures that walkers and joggers take full advantage of their parklike grounds. (Dogs are not allowed.) And that is the way the people who conceived of garden cemeteries wanted it to be -- not that they advocated jogging for health; they desired a pleasant, parklike place where families could visit their friends and relatives who had passed away. Before you jog right past, though, you might pause to visit a little longer.
