UP: Kathleen Falk and J.B. Van Hollen. They said it couldn't be done. They said it shouldn't be done. And if it were up to the people of Dane County, it wouldn't have been done. But Falk rode her personal appeal and concerns about the incumbent attorney general's drunk-driving bust to victory in Tuesday's Democratic primary. On the GOP side, Van Hollen beat one of the most hardcore right-wingers ever to seek state office in Wisconsin ' by proclaiming himself as being even farther to the right. What a race this sets up!
DOWN: Dave Wiganowsky. The owner of Wiggie's bar is found guilty of two violations of Madison's indoor smoking ban. He was cited after inspectors witnessed customers lighting up at the bar on two separate occasions last winter. The customers weren't told they couldn't smoke, and a bartender allegedly gave one a pack of cigarettes. Wiganowsky says he will appeal.
