UP: Isabel Jacobson. The O'Keeffe Middle School student wins the statewide spelling bee for the second straight time. She correctly spelled 'tutelary,' which means the guardianship of a person or thing. Jacobson will now head to the national spelling bee in Washington, D.C., where she placed 14th out of 276 competitors last year.
DOWN: Annette Ziegler. Wisconsin Democracy Campaign files a complaint against Ziegler, who is running for state Supreme Court, with the state Judicial Commission. The nonpartisan watchdog says Ziegler violated judicial rules by handling 16 civil cases as a Washington County Circuit Court judge without disclosing her ties to companies that were parties to these actions. Judicial rules require judges to recuse themselves or notify parties of potential conflicts.
