UP: The Daily Cardinal. The UW-Madison student newspaper wins "best of show" in the four-year daily tabloid category at the Associated Collegiate Press' national convention in Chicago. Scott Girard, the Cardinal's editor-in-chief (and a former Isthmus intern), says, "This award recognizes all the hard work the staff has been putting in this year."
DOWN: Rising Sun owners. The Wisconsin State Journal reports that investigators are seeking to prove allegations that Charles and Cathy Prindiville ran a prostitution ring at the Rising Sun massage bathhouse downtown. Unsealed search warrants show the bathhouse made $300,000 a year. The owners deny breaking any laws.
