And I love the budget blog. Any news junkie will tell you that Greg Bump's blog, detailing every unproductive minute of the conference committee, with endless links to endless memos by state legislators, is a daily must-read.
I particularly enjoy the sniping between Sen. Judy Robson (D-Beloit) and pretty much every Republican at the table. Just recently, Robson complained about Republicans who were applauding the lack of a budget, claiming it will save taxpayers money. "I never can figure out the Republican mind," groused Robson.
Bump himself stays out of the fray. Of course, he doesn't really need to make any editorial comments about the bickering between legislators -- their words and actions speak for themselves. We do owe Bump a big one, though. There are not many people who have the time -- or the patience -- to sit for hours waiting for the conference committee to start, then sit for more hours waiting for it to finally end.
What makes it all worth it? It must be little gems like this one, posted on Sept. 21.
