Earlier this year, the Wisconsin Alliance for Reform spent $1 million on TV and radio ads, urging residents to call Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley’s office to tell her “you believe in a fair and independent judiciary.” What was the point of these ads? As Bill Lueders reported in last week’s Isthmus, not many people bothered to pick up the phone. And of those who did, several told the justice they don’t support her bid to be elected to state’s high court. But the ads did get Bradley’s name and face on the airwaves ahead of the Feb. 16 primary, which she won.
