This photo by Dr. Ze'ev Bar-av, a former psychologist, was taken Tuesday at St. Bernard's church, his Middleton polling place. Bar-av, noting that the election involved heated moral issues like gay marriage and stem-cell research, says that 'to observe separation between church and state, the polling place should not be placed under the watchful eyes of the crucifix. If we can't be free of religious indoctrination during an election, where has our freedom from oppressive religion gone?' Good point.
