The Business Forum, an organization made up of women professionals in the Madison area, is now accepting nominations for the ATHENA Young Professional Award which seeks to honor "emerging community leaders whose professional and personal achievements make them ideal role models for young women." The deadline for nominations is Monday, September 15.
The ATHENA Young Professional Award will be presented on Wednesday, November 12 at an evening cocktail reception.
The Business Forum is one of the first organizations to sponsor a local ATHENA Young Professional Award and presenting the award will help the organization celebrate its 20th anniversary this fall.
According to TBF, nomination and selection criteria are set by ATHENA International, which administers the ATHENA Award Program worldwide. The criteria are:
- The individual is an emerging leader who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in his or her business or profession.
- The individual clearly serves as a role model for young women, personally and professionally.
- The individual provides valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.
Both men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 are eligible for the award.
