Breakfast with newly elected northside Ald. Satya Rhodes-Conway, a Progressive Dane stalwart, one day and lunch with Hickey Freeman clad former UW Regent Fred Mohs the next, huh? That should make for an interesting start of the week for Mayor Dave Cieslewicz.
Mohs was recently spotted at the listening session on crime at St. Maria Goretti school on Madison's southwest side, looking resplendent in a seersucker suit and yellow tie. While Mohs usually keeps his remarks as refined and conservative as his clothing, he hangs with those who rarely pass up the opportunity to take a swipe at Mayor Dave.
On Wednesday, the mayor welcomes his successor as director of 1,000 Friends of Wisconsin to the office, Steve Hiniker, just before addressing the Regional Transit Authority with the Common Council at noon on Thursday.
On Saturday night, just before classes start at the UW and freshmen-to-be are flexing their beer pounding muscles, he'll ride in a police squad car from the Central District. That's an action-packed six-day period.
