On Tuesday, Mayor Cieslewicz is having lunch with Gary Wolter, the CEO of MGE and past board chair of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce. The mayor probably won't be asking why Wolter has blocked access to his own energy-use information from a website that provides it for just about everyone else. But that would be a good question.
Later that day, the mayor is meeting with north-side Alds. Michael Schumacher and Satya Rhodes-Conway and Si Widstrand of the Parks Division. One topic, according to spokesperson George Twigg, will be the construction of a new stadium at Warner Park. As The Capital Times reported, the Mallard's are sounding an alarm over the possibility that the new stadium will cost $5.6 million ($1.6 more than previous projected) and might not get built in time for the 2009 season.
And on Friday, the mayor is meeting with David White, a staff rep for Council 40. Also on hand will be mayoral aide Janet Piraino. White has long been raising concerns about the outsourcing of job by the Madison Community Development Authority and Piraino has been tapped as the mayor's point person on this topic.
Finally, next Saturday, Mayor Dave with be getting in the groove -- or is that the gutter? -- bowling with city workers at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes, 2121 East Springs Dr. Is Dave a good bowler? Offers Twigg, "He's not quite on a par with the Big Lebowski, but he has his moments."
