Madison's mayor has a full schedule this week, meeting with all manner of people seeking favors from city government. That may explain why one item on the schedule is "lunch with Michael Blumenfeld" -- Cieslewicz's campaign treasurer and presumed bag man for bribe money.
Kidding! Looking over this list -- Eileen Mershart and others from the YWCA, Linda Hoskins from the local NAACP, Alice Howard and Robert Artis of the Allied Drive/Dunn's Marsh Neighborhood Association, Kathleen Woit of the Madison Community Foundation -- it seems that just about anyone can get in to see this guy, whether or not they come cash in hand. That's as commendable as it is boring.
But the schedule also includes quarterly meetings with four city managers -- Clerk Maribeth Witzel-Behr, Parks Superintendent Jim Morgan, Overture Center President Tom Carto and Library Director Barb Dimick. Watch for heads to roll.
They almost certainly will not, but you can watch for it.
