This week, Mayor Dave Cieslewicz is looking at potentially three nights of teeth gnashing with the City Council over the annual budget. Hour after hour will be filled with impassioned pleas for funding coupled with impassioned pleas for fiscal responsibility. Sequestered in the council chambers, temperatures, volumes and pulse rates of the participants will rise.
Hours not spent in budget deliberations this week will include meetings with people like Jennifer Alexander of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce and Gary Wolter of MG&E, who likely have share a few opinions on the budget. Cieslewicz will also sit down the Police Chief Noble Wray, who will almost surely have a strong point of view on the budget himself.
Is it any surprise that he'll be taking Friday off to walk in the woods hoping for a chance to discharge a rifle?
