Mayor Dave Cieslewicz's schedule contains two noteworthy items this week. First, far west neighborhoods aren't referred to as the periphery, a term we thought was pejorative last week.
Second, Mayor Dave is particpating in the Wisconsin Book Festival by introducing author Jonathan Harr on Saturday. Harr is the author of A Civil Action, a non-fiction legal thriller with a David vs. Goliath theme. Harr has a new book out in November called The Lost Painting that follows art sleuths on the trail of a missing Caravaggio. Harr is one of the book fest's celebrities, so the mayor has drawn a plum assignment.
