As the minutes tick down on the deadline next Tuesday to submit petitions for the recall of Gov. Scott Walker, the Democratic Party has been mum about how many signatures they have (540,208 are needed) and when they'll be submitted.
But Graeme Zielinski, communications director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, promises: "We're confident we're going to hit our goal of 720,000 signatures. By doing that we'll put this recall beyond any legal challenge, beyond any moral challenge.
"Any challenge would be a delay tactic," he adds.
Zielinski says the overwhelming number of people who have signed petitions proves Walker is wrong when he portrays it as an effort by outsiders. "He really avoids the reason folks are doing this, which is because he was dishonest," he says. "What this signature total will represent is a massive repudiation of Scott Walker."
