What we're listening to

Chelsey Dequaine, Isthmus social media director:

My fiance's 14-year-old niece recently went to see Billie Eilish at Summerfest, and in an effort to stay cool I had to start listening and see what all the buzz is about. Well, now I'm addicted. In March, this 17-year-old released her debut album (I can't believe she's only 17). Her whisper-like vocals are beautiful, almost entrancing, and her style of music is refreshing. Her music videos are trippy, like this one for "bury a friend," so I also dig her creative edge.

What we're eating

Angela Russell, vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion at CUNA Mutual Group:

Madison is a great place to have a little staycation during the summer. During my staycation I tried out the relatively new restaurant The Heights on Allen Street. The food was incredible, the environment was chill, and I loved that they played the music of some of my favorite artists: John Legend, Erykah Badu and Betty Wright. I loved this place so much that I went three times in one week.

What we're watching

Olivia Doucas, Isthmus advertising assistant:

You should know that the fourth season of Queer Eye is about to drop on Netflix on July 19. This is the best feel good show since Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I especially love Jonathan Van Ness. Every morning he posts an Instagram Story of himself making coffee and dancing to some fabulous throwback music (this week was the Dixie Chicks). I highly recommend tuning in.

Salads UP's seasonal menu hits all the right notes

The menu includes a rich buffalo ranch wrap, a Mediterranean-inspired grain bowl, and a farmhouse salad that you'll want to eat under the sun with a cold beverage. New items in store include buffalo chicken, bleu cheese, falafel spiced chickpeas, a smoky corn and poblano relish, and balsamic glazed tomatoes. Don’t miss out on these healthy eats!

What we're playing

Drew Hartberg, Isthmus videographer:

Utter Nonsense will have you and your friends and family rolling on the floor with laughter. It's yet another Apples to Apples-esque game with an entertaining twist. To win a round, you pick a phrase out of your hand that must be recited in an accent chosen by the judge. Enjoy!

Who we're following

Victoria Boucher, campaign director at Community Shares of Wisconsin:

Kids reading books. Kids reading books with diverse characters. Kids reading books with diverse characters –– to dogs! I'm giddy with all that's happening with @tales_with_bigt on Instagram. Two dogs (T and Joey along with their owner Lishe Terra) are making their mark on literacy in Madison. They visit area schools to promote reading with their own diverse library of children's books, making the experience more engaging and helping build confidence in reading skills.

What we're reading

Devin Renner, marketing director at True Coffee Roasters:

Wisconsin’s Best Beer Guide 4th Edition by Kevin Revolinski. For anyone with a thirst for knowledge of Wisconsin beers, this is the book. Kevin dives head first region by region, then county by county, into all of Wisconsin’s best beers and the breweries they come from, with Wisconsin’s beer history mixed in.
