Every year, Madison City Channel producer Chris Lang participates in the local edition of the The 48 Hour Film Project competition. In it, participating filmmakers are given a topic on a Friday afternoon and then have until Sunday to produce a five-minute film from scratch.
This year's genre was "martial arts," and Lang and his co-conspirators put together a very funny and creative film, shot around Madison during Maxwell Street Days weekend.
But unlike their previous efforts -- I was honored to be asked to make a cameo appearance in their first entry four years ago -- this one has a more poignant serious overtone to it that you'll pick up in the last scene.
If anything deserves to go viral, this does. Produced by Oven Mitt Productions, the film is titled Sleptomania. Hopefully it will be screened at the Best of the 48 Hour Film Project, an awards party for this year's winning creations. It will be held at the High Noon Saloon on Sunday, August 4.
Here you go: Sleptomania. Enjoy.
