Re Andre Darlington's review of DLUX ("Stopover in MSN," 12/7/2012): Did the same person write this entire review? I ask because of its schizophrenic nature.
The first six paragraphs call this restaurant a soulless, plastic, placeless place akin to ones patronized by hopeless and hapless travelers who simply share the pitiful fate of being sequestered in a Homeland Security netherworld at the exact and unfortunate time of being hungry.
Once a reader gets past the first six paragraphs, DLUX sounds like an excellent place to go, with locally and in-house-produced specialties and awesomely decent prices. (If I could find an airport restaurant with $5 cocktails, rest assured that I would not bother to make my connection.)
The review describes the hamburger bun as one similar to those available at McDonald's. While it has been years since I ate a McDonald's hamburger, I do recall that they do not even look like the one in the accompanying photo.
I regularly read Isthmus restaurant reviews start to finish - many people do not. So many people will get the exact wrong impression of a restaurant that is - by your own calculations and admissions - a fine place with good food and excellent prices.
