Dark Sector stands out from the crowded field of chop-shop blood fests. It has intense and detailed battlefields - you see every line in every brick and burning car littering the guerrilla war zone. The story finds a rogue agent named Mezner turning people into zombies, snarling dogs and killer soldiers; you try to stop him with help from your mutated arm.
The villainous henchmen aren't easy to slay. You really have to pay attention to your surroundings to avoid machine gun fire and swinging sledgehammers.
On the downside, the game is less fun online. Plus, you can barely run; you end up walking a lot.
The difficulty range hits a sweet spot. If you're a hardcore gamer, you'll find Dark Sector frustrating at first, then pretty easy to beat within a day. If you're a casual gamer, I bet it could take you a month to solve all of the puzzling challenges.
