2005's God of War was possibly the greatest action title ever to hit store shelves. The storyline was compelling, the game mechanics were intuitive, and the graphics were jaw-dropping. And now, the sequel picks up exactly where it left off.
Though the developers decided to stick with the PlayStation 2, you won't be disappointed with the graphics. The levels are even more impressive than in the original. Buildings and bosses are bigger, giving you the feeling that you are truly dealing with gods and titans.
You'll spend much of your time fighting your old friends - the skeletons, cyclops and minotaurs - but there are a number of new foes to spice things up. There are a lot more boss battles, too - definitely an improvement.
While some geeks may be disappointed that the franchise hasn't yet made the move to next-gen consoles, that just leaves them with something to look forward to in God of War III.
