It's Valentine's Day, and for the third high-profile holiday in a row, set in motion in front of a blue screen, er... sheet. This story of love follows the inaugural episodes for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Titled "Madden's Romeo and Juliet," the episode stars that quavering-voiced football commentator John Madden as Cupid, and reveals how this god of love and sex was responsible for the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet, who feature the voices of Nicholas Cage and Natalie Portman, respectively. And like the first two in the series, the episode is narrated with the voice of Christopher Walken.
Now Blame Society partners Matt Sloan and Aaron Yonda are bringing Celebrity Bric-a-Brac Theatre to Bric-a-Brac for the Wis-Kino Fall Kabaret and then submitted to a different website as part of another contract we were in," explains Yonda. "They totally didn't get it, and didn't want it so we put it on YouTube. It took off immediately, garnering 300,000 downloads in a week. Atom saw and liked the series so we sold it to them."
This new episode of their new series follows.
"We're thinking of making an Independence Day episode, and a special episode retelling the Civil War with bric-a-brac," says Yonda. These new Celebrity Bric-a-Brac Theatre shorts will be debuting on Atom Films this spring, probably in April.
Meanwhile, Sloan and Yonda have wrapped up their project with SuperDeluxe.com their videos can be watched here -- and is hosting a special screening party at Indie Coffee in one week, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 21. They will also be celebrating the launch of their new YouTube channel, BlameSociety2. "We made it for less polished work and to display older material," says Yonda. "It's for the more serious fan of Blame Society Productions."
The filmmakers also report that a second season of Chad Vader is being developed. "We have a finished script for episode 1 and we hope to go into production soon," they note in a recent announcement. "We've also gotten some Chad-related interest from television networks, so we are also developing a Chad Vader half-hour series for broadcast television. Exciting stuff." They will be traveling to L.A. at the end of the month to start pitching, and with the writers' strike now passed, production gears are turning once again.
