"It was exhausting to soak it all in, so much so that I couldn't imagine what it would be like to deal with it -- much less, to play it -- on a nightly basis." So writes the Milwaukee comedian who goes by the name of "Arthur Hinty" about the sold-out show by Big Red Goad, the comedian writes, Hank III "sent the freaky crowd of tremendous, tattooed ne'er-do-wells into orbit with an hour of rockabilly, a half-hour of 'hellbilly' hybrid cowpunk and an hour of straight-out metal under the 'Assjack' moniker."
One of the songs performed in the first set was "Damn Right and Rebel Proud," a new work that should be the title track on Williams' new country album due for release in early 2008. A live concert video clip of Hank III playing it follows below.
Three other video clips showing Hank III in action at the High Noon are available online for viewing. These feature the hellbilly baron playing "Dick in Dixie" (here), "Cut Throat" (here), and "Punch Fight Fuck" (here), the latter two drawn from his hardcore set with Assjack. There are also several photos from the show available here, each of which appropriately shows Hank III playing with a maniacal gleam in his eyes.
