Fatboy Slim's "Praise You" is one of the more frequently parodied music videos found online. Released in 1999, the original famously captures a fictional dance troupe performing a routine choreographed to the electronica hit in front of a Los Angeles move theater, as shot surreptitiously by director Spike Jonze. Since then, fans have tried to re-create the scene in a variety of locations and situations.
If you attended the Mifflin Street Block Party nearly three months ago, you might have witnessed one such performance. A dozen people attempted to re-create the choreographed dance amid the variously cheering, bemused, and disinterested revelers at the late spring gathering in downtown Madison.
