Care for a (low-flying) bird's eye view of the UW Hospital? One person captured got such a look recently, flying a radio controlled airplane that was mounted with a camera around the large playing fields abutting Eagle Heights and Shorewood Hills at the west end of the UW campus.
The flying of radio controlled aircraft, or the use of any radio-controlled toys for that matter, can be prohibited in Madison. As detailed in Chapter 8.30 of Madison General Ordinances:
The Superintendent of Parks may prohibit the operation of any radio controlled toy in any park or portion thereof which has been determined to be an environmentally sensitive area. The Superintendent of Parks may restrict the use of radio controlled toys in any park or portion thereof where such restrictions are necessary to ensure the protection of park resources and the harmonious use of the parks for all of their visitors.
Nearly six minutes of aerial footage follows.
