Armed with a repertoire of covers of relatively obscure rock songs mostly from the '60s and '70s, the Low Czars have played a handful of shows around Madison since their debut at a High Noon Saloon happy hour at the beginning of January. Their musical well includes songs written by the Beatles, Big Star, Elvis Costello, Bobby Fuller, Guided by Voices, Joe Jackson, Kinks, Nick Lowe, the Monkees, The Move, Elvis Presley, the Ramones, Rolling Stones, Swamp Dogg, Wilco and The Who.
One of the Low Czars regular covers is "September Gurls" by Big Star, which they performed at their last gig on Friday, March 5 at the High Noon. A live concert video of their performance follows below.
