The UW Memorial Library stacks serve as the opening setting for "another very serious music video" directed by Milwaukee-based filmmaker Chris Thompson Horton the Irrelevant and August the Creep collaboration "What I Know."
The song "What I Know" can be found on the album Strange Passengers , a new 19-track collaboration between Horton the Irrelevant and August the Creep. Isthmus staff writer Tom Laskin describes the track as "a cagey mash-up of distorted electric piano and an oddly edited stop-and-start beat that flutters and flows beneath Horton's mighty bass-toned palaver."
This music video follows below.
More information about Strange Passengers can be found in a review in The Badger Herald and in an interview published by the Amie Street independent music store.
Horton and August have a busy schedule this weekend. They are providing the music at a Firecracker Studios "Gorilla Art Showcase" on Friday, Mar. 9, barely having time for a breather before taking the stage again the following night for a MadisonHipHop.com party celebrating the visit to town of its founder, Bro DJ (Brody Rose).
"What I Know" and three other songs ("June July and Isabel," "Save the Brunettes," and "The Why") are availble for listening on Horton's Myspace page , as is a Thompson-directed "revamped video" for the latter track, entertainingly set at Henry Vilas Zoo.
