On Friday, Feb. 16, the Rathskeller at the UW Memorial Union was the site of the Hoofers Winter Carnival Concert featuring the Lampshade Orchestra and the word of mouth trio. The performance by the latter group -- consisting of Matthew O'Grady (guitar and vocals), Ross Laurent (bass and vocals), and Carl Dixon (drums) -- is available for viewing thanks to UW student Tom Wilson.
A live concert video clip from the show follows below.
The trio describe themselves as combining "the gritty, hard-edged power and energy of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Eric Clapton and Cream with the soul and lyricism of Stevie Wonder and Prince in their original songs and interpretations of the classics." Their next show is set for Thursday, March 15, when they play at the Club Tavern in Middleton.
