Released this week: Crank, The Illusionist, The Night Listener, QuinceaÃera.
Crank: In this cheerily lunatic slice of action-film bliss, a hit man (Jason Statham) injected with poison seeks revenge before his death. Despite the fact that its mayhem is ultra-violent and stupid (often intentionally so), the film is absurdly entertaining.
The Illusionist: Edward Norton stars as a magician who becomes a threat to the Hapsburg empire in fin-de-siÃcle Vienna. The movie's a love triangle that's supposed to stir our passions, but it doesn't quite get the job done, partly because Norton lacks hypnotic appeal.
