The Avett Brothers will perform at historic Breese Stevens Field on Oct. 2, organizers announced at a press conference there this morning.
The North Carolina-based folk-rock band last played Madison in February 2013, at a sold-out show at the Orpheum Theater. They will be joined at Breese Stevens by special guest Brett Dennen and an additional act to be announced later.
The concert is presented by Frank Productions, True Endeavors, 105.5 Triple M and Majestic Live.
General admission tickets are $45 and gold circle general admission tickets are $59.50. Tickets go on sale June 5 at 10 a.m. and will be available online at ticketmaster.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 or in person at the box offices of the Alliant Energy Center and Majestic Theatre.
Breese Stevens opened in 1926 and was recognized as a national landmark in 2014. It has undergone major renovations recently, including the replacement of the original grass field with artificial turf.
