On the serious side, Labor Day often signals changes to the end of outdoor summer activities, which can mean closer interpersonal contact indoors. The CDC's COVID Data Tracker indicates that positive cases of COVID are trending upwards already, especially for variant Omicron KP 3.1.1. For our upper-midwest region (5), the COVID-19 positivity rate is 17.6%.
MTS reminds you that if you have ANY symptoms of sickness, even a head-cold, coughing, or sneezing, please take care of your health - rest and STAY AT HOME. People who are up to date with their COVID-19 vaccine have lower risk of severe illness. While any recent COVID cases in our tango community have been isolated, let's keep it that way! If you want to tango and do not have symptoms, or if you have concerns about your health, in an abundance of caution MTS welcomes you to wear a face covering.
You can order 4 free COVID tests available at the end of September from this HHS.gov web site.
Please be aware that MTS will cancel an evening's tango event if hazardous weather conditions for the Madison area are expected. This includes winter storm warnings and tornado warnings. Please keep your commuting safety in mind before you leave your home.
