Follow easy paths along Lake Mendota, around the Tenney Lagoon and down the Yahara Riverway. Bring binoculars or a camera if you have one! Look for familiar birds like Canada Geese and Mallards that are forming large flocks for migration. Do you see any cute all-black American Coots? Listen for their squeeky toy sounds! Can you identify 3 or more species of beautiful Migrating Waterfowl? Look for brightly patterned black and white Buffleheads, large graceful all-white Tundra Swans, and diving Grebes and Merganzers with punk hair tufts. Listen for the wild call of Common Loons that migrate through Madison each Spring and Fall!
