Jamar Jones, a native of Philadelphia, is a polymath in the realms of music, film, entrepreneurship, and education. With a career spanning almost three decades, Jamar has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry through his versatility and creativity.
As a pianist, film composer, songwriter, and music producer, Jamar’s contributions have resonated across genres and generations. His journey began with iconic R&B group Boyz II Men, where he played a pivotal role in crafting hits like “Dear God,” “So Amazing,” and “Dreams.” Collaborations with luminaries such as Usher Raymond and Jill Scott further solidified his reputation for musical excellence, earning him Grammy nominations and ASCAP Awards.
In the world of film and television, Jamar’s talents shine brightly. His work on projects like “The New Edition Story,” “The Greatest Showman,” and acclaimed series like “The Young and the Restless” and “Rebel” have earned him critical acclaim and industry recognition.
Beyond his artistic endeavors, Jamar is a visionary entrepreneur, co-founding Musitrust, a groundbreaking venture at the intersection of music and technology. Additionally, he serves as an executive pastor at The Worship Center Christian Church in Birmingham, AL, blending his passion for music with his commitment to faith and community.
Jamar’s dedication to education is evident in his role as Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Texas, where he teaches an online course on the History of Hip Hop. With advanced degrees in Music from the University of Texas at Arlington and Business from the University of Arizona, Jamar is a lifelong learner committed to continuous growth.
