Madison Shakespeare Company Auditions

media release: Be a part of a long-running classical romance performance ensemble! This season we are looking for:

- Performers who would suit roles such as Juliet, Ophelia, Hero, Hermia, Viola, Isabella, and Bianca.

- Performers who would suit roles such as Romeo, Orlando, Demetrius, Lysander, Autolycus, Dromio, and Silvius.

- Performers who would suit roles such as Marc Antony, Macbeth, Benedick, Petruchio, Sir Andrew, and Valentine.

If you do not consider yourself a good fit for roles like these, please join us for a future audition.

A Valentine's Affair, February 13-15 2025 at the Bartell Theatre in Madison

Shakespeare's Lovers In June, June 7-8 2025 at Tyranena Brewing in Lake Mills

Candidates who have never appeared in an MSC production will be asked to present a memorized Shakespearean monologue no longer than two minutes. Choose from any Shakespeare text that illustrates your capabilities and range.

All candidates may be asked to participate in scene readings which will be published shortly and made available to all candidates.

All candidates will be contacted with an appointment time. Auditions to be held at the Bartell Theatre Evjue Stage, 113 E. Mifflin St. in Madison.

There will be occasional table read and initial rehearsal sessions in December 2024, with regular rehearsals beginning January 5, 2025. After the close of A Valentine's Affair, there will be occasional brush-up rehearsals to prepare for Lovers In June, presented June 7 and 8.
