Proud Theater Open Enrollment

media release: Fun! Food! Friendship! It's open enrollment time for Proud Theater Madison! Young people from Madison and the surrounding area can join Proud Theater for its 2024-2025 season starting September 11, 2024. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays during the school year beginning at 5:30 p.m. and held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1904 Winnebago Street, in Madison. To enroll, youth need only contact Proud Theater at madison@proudtheater.org or simply show up to rehearsals. Food and snacks will be served. Open enrollment ends December 4, 2024.

 Founded in 1999, Proud Theater is an award-winning, exciting, and innovative youth theater program whose mission is to change the world through the power of the theater arts and to make a positive difference in the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersexed, asexual, or allied youth (LGBTQIA+) through the tenets of art, heart, and activism.

Empowering and creative, Proud Theater encourages youth to share their personal stories through the creation of original theatrical works, which they then present to the community at large throughout the school year. Traditionally, the group ends each season with a culminating showcase production. The 2024 culminating performance will be held June 13 and 14, 2025, at the MyArts Youth Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

Proud Theater is a program of Art and Soul Innovations (artandsoulinnovations.org) and enjoys generous support from the PRL Keystone Foundation as well as the support of many community members and organizations from around the state.
