media release: The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will host its second public involvement meeting to gather input on the US 51 (Stoughton Road) environmental study between Voges Road/Terminal Drive in McFarland and the WIS 30 interchange in Madison.
The meeting is scheduled for:
Tuesday, November 19, 2024 , 5:30 - 7 p.m., La Follette High School (Cafeteria), 702 Pflaum Road , Madison, WI 53716
The study has identified a wide range of conceptual alternatives to address safety, mobility, and community connectivity issues for all roadway users along the corridor. The meeting will review conceptual alternatives and allow attendees to provide input to help shape the vision for this 4.4-mile segment of Stoughton Road. The public is encouraged to attend and ask questions. The meeting will be an open-house format, with participants welcome to come and go as they please during the scheduled time. WisDOT staff will be available to discuss the study on an individual basis. A pre-recorded presentation will also be shown on a continuous loop during the meeting.

The meeting facility is ADA-compliant and wheelchair-accessible. Persons who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter may request one by contacting the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (dial 711) at least seven working days prior to the meeting. A Spanish-speaking translator will be provided at the meeting.
