Tonight the Common Council will be discussing the future of the Overture Center, including a proposed city purchase of the performance center. Here is the agenda.
The Overture's Chief Financial Officer, Cindy Rose Hughes, will give an overview of the Overture's finances, followed by a discussion of the operating agreement, led by City Attorney Michael May. Ald. Satya Rhodes-Conway will be leading the discussion of the Council's Vision for the Overture.
In this week's Isthmus, which you should pick up, Marc Eisen discusses the various options the city could pursue to keep the lights on at the Overture, including engaging the county in the purchase. After all, he argues, the Overture is a regional facility, and it is not only the city who has a vested interest in its future.
