I talked to a contact close to the liberal/progressive caucus in the Dane County Board of Supervisors. It appears that liberals are expecting to lose two seats to conservative candidates, although there are certainly more radical predictions on both sides. Dave Blaska, a former fascist member of the board himself, is predicting conservatives will pick up five seats.
Liberals have voiced concerns over the following incumbents: Elaine DeSmidt in district 3, Matt Veldran, the district 7 supervisor who beat Blaska four years ago and Paul Rusk. Mike Basford, who is running the campaign of challenger Melissa Sargent, told me the race would be interesting, but I don't know if that means close. Brenda Konkel does not think so (below).
If anybody disagrees with those assessments please don't hesitate to tell me. This is based on the information I've collected from others involved in campaigns. Again, anonymous emails would be greatly appreciated and your anonymity is guaranteed!
