The cure for the post-primary hangover
Tammy Baldwin faces some guy who can't answer a straight question from a reporter. Russ Feingold faces a guy who's pretty much funding his whole campaign out-of-pocket, pockets which were lined with government money he's since decided is evil (for everyone else). Yet despite how staggeringly unqualified these two challengers are, there's still always the chance they could pull off an upset. What's that line about stealing defeat from the jaws of victory?
So it's more important than ever that supporters of fine elected representatives like Baldwin and Feingold not be complacent, not be smug, and instead get some serious work done explaining the real accomplishments and stances on the issues of their candidates.
As a humorous side note, remember the woman, Ieshuh Griffin, running for Wisconsin Assembly whose campaign statement of purpose got shot down for being "offensive?" She had her real moment of fame on last night's episode of the Daily Show. I thought she came off pretty well, actually:
