As is increasingly the case with social media, those hoping to learn more about the apartment building fire at the corner of Webster and East Mifflin Streets Thursday morning turned to Twitter.

Madison comedian Nick Mortensen was among those displaced and wasted little time in putting his own inimitable stamp on the coverage.

Our hearts go out to Nick on this horrible morning and we're glad he and his neighbors are safe. We also admire his ability to be, of all things, funny in the face of an unenviable situation.
