Ald. Santiago Rosas is asking Mayor Dave Cieslewicz's campaign to compensate the city of Madison for radio ads touting a recent water quality report.
In a memo sent to Cieslewicz on Monday, Rosas accuses the mayor of making city staff release the report early and "accompanying it with a public relations campaign that addressed one of the key campaign issues with questionably positive conclusions, an overt campaign message financed with public monies." Rosas adds, "Pay for your campaign expenses with political contributions, not public funds."
