There were no major surprises in the elections around Madison on Tuesday, with incumbents emerging victorious in every major race around the city and its suburbs.
Turnout was marginally higher than originally expected, pushing beyond 20% by late afternoon. Though the status quo continues to reign on the Madison Board of Education and Common Council, both largely remaining split and balanced, their courses are set as the city continues its metamorphosis into a major metropolitan area.
