"Get involved, support your local public access television station with music and in-depth coverage of people, events, and things that matter to you," urges Scarlett Johansson in the opening to a promotional clip for awards show back on June 1.
The promo is the result of a friendship between the Hollywood actress and Sarah Uphoff, a restaurant owner and celebrity promoter in Los Angeles and the daughter of the station's executive director, Charles Uphoff. It features quick shots from numerous series and films aired on WYOU, including: Splu Urtaf, Chad Vader, Madison en Vivo!, Flick: Mad Music, Buckystein, Not Docs, Astrology the Universe and You, Hindu Cultural Hour, El Barrio, West Africa Experience: Music From the Continent, Madison Disc Golf League, A-Bar, Moving Picture Power Hour, and, of course, Cooking With Bob. It was edited by Robert Lughai, the program coordinator and education director for the station.
This 30-second promo video follows.
With this clip, WYOU has now published a dozen short video segments online, most of which are similar promotional spots for its programming. This is only the first step for the community broadcaster, though, which is considering more ways of distributing its programming online.
If you have a video about Madison or by Madisonians, please consider adding it to the Isthmus YouTube group or send a message.
