press release: Representatives and students from the court reporting program at Madison College, Madison, invite students and visitors to stop by an information table near the cafeteria located in the Truax Building on Feb. 15 and Feb. 18, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., to talk to faculty and staff about court reporting and captioning careers and the college’s degree program. The event is being hosted to celebrate 2016 Court Reporting & Captioning Week taking place Feb. 14-20.
The 2016 Court Reporting & Captioning Week is sponsored by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), the country’s leading organization representing stenographic court reporters, broadcast and CART captioners, and legal videographers. This week pulls together a nationwide effort to showcase the career opportunities that exist in the court reporting and captioning fields.
School counselors attending the Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA) Annual Conference in Madison are also invited to stop by the college’s information and exhibit booths on Feb. 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to speak with a representative about careers and the degree program.
Madison College offers an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Court Reporting with a 100 percent online program option, student scholarships, nearly100 percent job placement, and national program that is certified by NCRA. The College will be engaged in efforts throughout the week to promote the profession to its student population and to the surrounding community.
