Last weekend, UW senior defender Aaron Hohlbein participated in the Major League Soccer Player Combine in Fort Lauderdale in his next steps towards a pro career. A native of Middleton, Hohlbein completed his final season with the Badgers last year, and was named a third team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America at the end of the season. Before this honor was announced, Hohlbein was interviewed about his thoughts on the sport of fÃtbol and prospects in the combine.
This video interview follows below.
More details about the player combine and Hohlbein's performance there are noted here and here at Madison Soccer Central. Meanwhile, another local soccer standout from the west side of Lake Mendota -- Middleton High School goalkeeper Josh Lambo -- has said he is unlikely to sign any contract offer from Major League Soccer, electing rather to continue training with Liverpool's Everton in the Premiere League. The Major League Soccer SuperDraft begins on Friday, Jan. 12.
